Test, Test and Test Again

You will soon be enjoying live broadcasts of activities and events with LSE alumnae and alumni.

During a live broadcast, the whole world will be able to see errors, mistakes and technical issues. Hence, our current motto is test, test and test again ... and you can help out.

Do you have the LarixBroadcaster app on your mobile phone? Do you owe a (semi-)professional camcorder or video camera? Do you use the VLC media player on your desktop or notebook computer, tablet, mobile phone or Xbox One?

If you do, you could help the Association run tests on live video and audio feeds from different parts of the country to its broadcasting studio in Zurich. The afore-mentioned software and hardware support Secure Reliable Transport (SRT). Used by broadcasters worldwide, SRT optimizes live video and audio transmission performance across unpredictable networks, such as the Internet, by dynamically adapting to the real-time network conditions. SRT live transmissions are protected by strong end-to-end encryption.

Each individual test will run for less than 5 minutes. If you want to help out, please get in touch with the Secretary General.
