The SLSEAA is the only national association of LSE alumnae and alumni worldwide with its own sports team. The team first competed in 2007. Our boat is always recruiting paddlers of all abilities for various races throughout the year. We field mixed crews of female and male paddlers in recreational race categories and always have free spots. Camaraderie, fitness and fun are our aims. Never have paddled before in a dragon boat? No problem, you will be instructed. The London Dragons would be delighted to welcome you as our newest recruit.

Legends have been part of Switzerland's cultural heritage for centuries. What characters appear in sagas? How do the stories explain mysterious natural phenomena? Our new event format "Lunch Together" is an opportunity to connect with your fellow LSE alumnae and alumni when you break for lunch on weekdays. Each of the lunches will feature a national cuisine, starting with the exciting culinary traditions of Spain. 

Join Ambassador Simon Manley, the UK's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, the World Trade Organisation and other International Organisations in Geneva, for a full English breakfast. The Ambassador will share his insights into the effect on the many multilateral organisations from Russia's illegal war of aggression and the UK's prominent role in support of Ukraine.

Next year, we will be celebrating our Silver Jubilee, 25 years of connecting LSE alumnae and alumni to each other. In stark contrast, there was nothing to celebrate in the last 3 years, the most usual period in the history of our Association: First the still ongoing worldwide pandemic and now war in Europe. In the expectation that the scheduled total revision of our Articles of Association will introduce ways to vote other than being physically present, we do one last Annual Reunion and General Meeting as a video conference, by design an inclusive format. Join Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter for lunch. She will share her insights on the future of Swiss-EU bilateral relations and on the consequences for Western democracies resulting from the current geopolitical turmoil.

Join Dr. Sandra McNally for dinner and engaging discussions. Sandra McNally holds two positions in the LSE, as Director of the Education and Skills Programme of the Centre for Economic Performance and as Director of the Centre for Vocational Education Research. She is also Professor of Economics at Surrey and Co-Editor of the Economics of Education Review. Her research spans subjects which are also hotly debated in Switzerland, including post-16 trajectories, apprenticeships, returns to education and skills in the labour market.

The pandemic is still ongoing but, given the high immunization of the population, we are cautiously restarting our activities and events for LSE alumnae and alumni in a physical setting.

The Kunsthaus houses one of the largest art collections in Switzerland, with works from the 13th century to the present day. You and your partner and guests are cordially invited to a guided tour in English of its recently opened extension, followed by a dinner on the Kunsthaus plaza.

The pandemic definitely cannot stop the annual gathering of the graduates, current and former students, members of staff, visitors and friends of all the Colleges of the University of London. Please look forward to the 18th True Purple.

Instead of postponing the 17th True Purple to next year (as previously announced), we would be delighted to welcome you instead to a nationwide video conference of the graduates, current and former students, members of staff, visitors and friends of all the Colleges of the University of London.

"The Inside Angle" is a laid-back talk and interview show featuring LSE alumnae and alumni and other guests discussing their work, ventures and adventures for insight and enjoyment. Produced and hosted by the Officers of the Association, regular show episodes are broadcasted live on YouTube.

New and returning LSE students, you are cordially invited, prior to going up to London, to link up with alumnae and alumni of the School for some insider information on life in London and thereafter.

LSE alumnae and alumni, especially the graduating classes of recent years, connect to the older alums and wish our new and returning students a "bon voyage" for their LSE journey, giving them some tips to make the best out of their time at the School.
